An excerpt from the book Fractured Paths of Disheartened Minds.
Struggling to survive.
My nervous system shivers.
Erratically beating, I bet my life.
I did it.
It was all that was needed to do.
Forego lapses of judgment.
Loosen up the vines.
Gather into a bubble all that was dear.
And I did it.
I leapt out the side of your twisted logic and idol hands.
Now back in my mind, I will lock the doors.
Carry the weight of what’s to come.
Stone washed and heavy soiled.
Lasted longer than the mental eye could see.
My wrinkles, a film that couldn’t stain.
But would always remain, if I let it be.
